Accessibility

Ontario is leading the way in addressing the needs of all its citizens.  The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) provides legislation to ensure a completely accessible Ontario by 2025.  Ontario has mandatory accessiblity standards in five areas of daily life:

The United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry is committed to providing residents with disabilities the opportunity to access services and information equal to all residents.  The County adopted an Accessibility Plan in 2003 in consultation with the Accessibility Committee.  The Plan has been updated each year thereafter and outlines initiatives to identify, remove and prevent barriers, and sets targets  to improve accessibility.

Feedback from our residents and visitors is welcome

The County encourages individuals to make suggestions on ways to improve our services.  We welcome the opportunity to learn and improve.
