Geographic Information System (GIS)
GIS allows you to create, update, analyze and model maps. In a municipal setting, GIS is used to create and maintain data such as civic addresses, roads, land parcels, water and sewer features, zoning, and more. For example: maps and data can be used to evaluate a proposed plan of subdivision or to find the best location for a new school based on population projections and other variables. The County delivers Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and related mapping for County staff, local municipalities, 9-1-1 responders, various organizations and the general public.
