THE COUNTIES, Ontario - Area MPP Nolan Quinn celebrated the partnerships created by the SDG OPP detachment and Naomi's House, which highlights the assistance provided to victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.

SDG OPP officers have indicated they have been delighted to work with agencies like Naomi's House as more work is invested in combatting human-trafficking activities.

"OPP Insp. Marc Hemmerick and his detachment have made vulnerable women a priority in the OPP's service delivery by increasing community safety initiatives and anti-human trafficking services," said Renee Moores, executive director of Naomi's House. "As a result, we improved inter-agency communication and increased our ability to provide crisis shelter services. This is meaningful to Naomi's as our residents benefit from the cohesion."

Naomi's House is funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services for operations and by generous donations from the community, all of which are directed to the residents at Naomi's House.

Naomi's House operates a nine-bed emergency shelter, a 24/7 crisis line and transitional housing supports to departing residents. If you, or someone you know, would benefit from a supportive talk, call the 24/7 number at 613-774-2838.
