SDG COUNTIES, Ontario - Returning to Cornwall for the first time in 22 years, the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors (AORS) Annual Municipal Public Works Trade Show is set to see thousands at the Cornwall Civic Complex, Ed Lumley Arena, and Lamoureux Park on June 5-6 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
SDG Counties and its local municipalities are partners for this event.
The two-day trade show provides an opportunity for public- and private-sector public works professionals to share information and technical developments in the materials, services and equipment required to build and maintain municipal roads and other core infrastructure.
It also allows suppliers of municipal equipment, products, and services to meet with customers from across the province in one location and develop new business relationships and explore new territories as it moves around the province.
Held once a year at a selected municipality in Ontario, Cornwall bid to host the AORS event back in 2019 and was slated to do so in 2022. Ultimately, the city was given the honours for 2024 — a few years behind, considering pandemic delays.
Roughly 1,500 to 2,000 people are expected to take in what the array of booths have to offer, not including members of the public, who are also welcome to attend for free upon registration at the entrance. The event will spill from the complex salons outside into a secured perimeter in the eastern portion of Lamoureux Park.
Booths with dump trucks, snowplows, sidewalk machines, graters, and tractors. Products that are used in the municipal setting for asphalt, concrete, water treatment, personal protective equipment (PPE), traffic safety, lighting, and more will also be available.
