SDG COUNTIES, Ontario - A pair of conservation authorities that manage water courses in our region have issued messaging related to heavy rainfall.
South Nation Conservation this week issued a flood safety watch, as did the Raisin Region Conservation Authority, as the remnants of Hurricane Beryl will drop as much as 80 mm of rain over the next 24 hours.

Remember to ensure:
- Your sump pump is clear, in good working condition and has a backwater valve on it.
- You have easy access to a portable backup generator and pump.
- Downspouts are clear and the outlet is at least three metres from the dwelling.
- You secureĀ items that might float away as flows increase.
