SDG COUNTIES, Ontario - Much-needed improvements to County Road 22, including the replacement of culverts and storm sewers, is set to begin later this month.
SDG Counties is undertaking a significant rehabilitation of County Road 22, with crews mobilizing traffic control measures on or about April 28. The project is expected to be completed by the end of October.
The project consists of full-depth asphalt removal and reclamation, grading and drainage work (culverts and storm sewers), and installation of hot mix asphalt paving, as well as the restoration and construction of municipal drains.
SDG Counties is investing approximately $5.8 million in this project, which will completely replace about six kilometres of roadway and infrastructure.
"This project is important, as the condition of County Road 22 has deteriorated significantly," said Dana Grant, SDG Counties Manager of Capital Works - Roads. "We appreciate the public's patience, and apologize for the inconvenience this work may introduce."
Motorists can expect lane reductions to facilitate the work, but no road closures are anticipated at this time.
SDG Counties will provide updates as they are warranted. The Canada Community-Building Fund is providing funding for this rehabilitation project.
