Fauxmagerie Zengarry was borne nearly five years ago out of Lynda Turner’s dissatisfaction with the vegan cheese options on the market.
Turner, who had a longstanding personal interest in eating and living healthy, took it upon herself to re-create her favourite fine cheeses using cashews, fine herbs, and organic oils.
After enjoying an overwhelmingly positive response to her artisanal vegan cheeses, Turner took the leap: she left her government scientist job and became a fulltime cheeseologist, with the goal of making delicious dairy-free cheese accessible to as many people as possible.
In fall 2016 she opened a dedicated vegan cheese factory in Alexandria ON. to meet growing demand for the product. Zengarry fauxmages are now carried at stores across Ontario and Quebec, and Turner and the Zengarry team can be found at events sampling fauxmage and spreading the love.
Zengarry has been featured on CBC television and radio, The Globe & Mail, CTV Morning Live and Regional Contact, Rogers cable 22, and even The Glengarry News (front page!).
