SDG COUNTIES, Ontario – A new intake period for the next round of the SDG Counties Regional Incentives Program is open until Feb. 24.

The popular funding program provides incentives to grow and expand new businesses within SDG Counties.

“The 2025 Regional Incentives Program continues to be a cornerstone of economic development in SDG Counties. Over the years, it has empowered local businesses, revitalized underutilized spaces, and attracted investments that shape our region’s growth. This program is a testament to the incredible potential of our business community and the lasting benefits of investing locally." said Karina Belanger, SDG Counties Interim Manager of Economic Development.

Since 2018, SDG Counties has invested over $1.5 million by way of the Regional Incentives Program. This has culminated in more than $10 million in local construction projects.

"I encourage all eligible businesses and organizations to apply for the 2025 Regional Incentives Program. Whether you're looking to launch a new project or expand an existing initiative, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact on our community. Together, we can drive innovation, create jobs, and build a stronger future for SDG Counties," added Belanger.

To be eligible for the Regional Incentives Program, applicants must meet a number of criteria and also demonstrate that they meet at least one of the regional economic initiatives identified by SDG Counties. The three regional economic initiatives include projects that:

  • Stimulate investment in tourism and in the agricultural sector by funding diverse, on-farm expansions and agri-tourism.
  • Encourage redevelopment and private sector investment in existing building stock within the Counties to support employment, reduce the number of vacant commercial, institutional and industrial buildings, and increase the assessment base.
  • Increase the amount of permanent roofed accommodations within SDG Counties to specifically accommodate for an increase in tourism establishments that cater to short-term accommodations.
